Denkert Wins Hawk’s Cay Tarpon Tournament
The team of Brooke Denkert of Islamorada and Wade Davis of West Palm Beach, along and their guide Dave Denkert, Brooke’s father, won last weekend’s Redbone Sunrise/Sunset Tarpon Tourney at Hawk’s Cay Resort on Duck Key after catching nine tarpon caught on live crab.
This Florida Keys fishing tournament will eventually be featured on the ESPN Outdoors Saltwater Series television show.
In addition to the team award, the 23-year-old Denkert will also received the Grand Champion Angler award with her catch of five tarpon for the tournament – three during sunrise fishing Saturday and two during Saturday’s sunset session – earned her the Grand Champion Angler award. …
