Okeechobee Marina Goes Green
Lake Okeechobee’s Loggerhead Club & Marina has received Florida’s Department of Environmental Protection Clean Marina designation, ensuring that the state’s permier bass-fishing destination will have clean water for generations to come.
In order to receive the coveted Clean Marina certification, marinas must adopt stringent environmental regulations that keep solvents, sewage and fuel out of the water. Okeechobee’s Loggerhead Club & Marina has 104 new wet slips that can accommodate boats up to 75 feet long, which will be welcome news to boaters since many yachts cross the "Big O" en route to the Atlantic Ocean from the Gulf of Mexico. …
