Some Southwest Florida leaders want to address medication flushing
Medications are ending up in water supplies, and scientists and regulators have yet to understand the effects of these so-called emerging substances of concern — 14 million, mostly unregulated, chemical compounds in use in the United States. That’s just what Bonita Springs Councilman Richard Ferreira is afraid of.
