In a petition filed today, property rights advocacy group Pacific Legal Foundation says the wood stork should be reclassified from endangered status to only threatened.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has rescinded, effective immediately, the special regulations adopted earlier this month because of drought conditions. Recent rainfall has increased water levels at Everglades wildlife management areas, making the special regulations no longer necessary.
