VIDEO/PHOTOS: Bobcat released back into the wild
This cat was born to be wild.
Just seconds away from freedom, the 9-month-old bobcat flattened its pointy ears against its skull, bared its sharp white fangs and snarled angrily as the blanket covering its crate was removed in a heavily wooded area on private property near Big Cypress National Preserve 50 miles east of Naples on Friday afternoon.
Photographers moved in. Shutters clicked. Film whirred. In its crate a few feet away, the bobcat growled, hissed and spat at all of the decidedly unwelcome attention, its iridescent yellow eyes blazing with a fury.
