Next step for Collier’s new FEMA flood maps is appeal process for residents
The release of new FEMA flood maps represents the first change in the flood plain designations in the county in more than a decade. The changes, unveiled at a recent series of meetings held by county government staff, will force many to purchase flood insurance within the next nine months to 18 months _ insurance they hadn’t needed before.
