VIDEOS Florida may shut down pens used to train dogs to capture foxes, coyotes
Hunters use fox pens to train their hunting dogs and to stage competitions in which dogs are judged on how well they pursue their prey. It’s all about the chase, not the kill, they say. Animal activists, on the other hand, say chasing captive wildlife for hours at a time, day after day, is inhumane and often ends in a brutal death along a fox pen fence line. Florida might outlaw the practice at a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission meeting this week.
