Collier County avoids lawsuit by creating greater protections for red-cockaded woodpecker
Tuesday’s unanimous vote caps years of feuding over protections for the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker across a square mile of rural Collier County, known as Section 24, near Hideout Golf Club on the edge of Golden Gate Estates.
