Rough Riders were an all-cavalry regiment raised in 1898 by Theodore Roosevelt, when the United States declared war on Spain. Events June 3 include a 4 p.m. memorial dedication at the convent, used in the Spanish-American War as a makeshift hospital for injured soldiers; followed by a blessing of historic marker #60 for St. Mary Star of the Sea.
